David made an appearance on the local morning show and did about a 20 minute segment answering questions about the impending road through to Brazil. There are some issues with it in terms of the people and environment that will be affected. He did great and the kids were shocked and thrilled to see him right there on the same box they watch Backyardigans on - now that is fame.

We also had a birthday party for Edith and invited her mother and sister over to help celebrate. The kids love a party so we enjoyed decorating and hosting the event, especially considering all that Edith does for us. Although felt a little awkward that she said she had never had one before. I think she had fun.
Ruby and Felix had their last days of school here, which was a bittersweet milestone. We like the school, friends and teachers and will be sorry to not see them anymore. Tonight Ruby had her kindergarten graduation and it was a lavish and fun affair! It's so funny because we never have any idea what to expect from the school (and I don't fully understand all of the communication that comes home) so there are always plenty of surprises. There was a huge production graduation that over the course of 2 hours went from a formal ceremony with caps and gowns, diplomas, introductions of the families to dancing, clowns, balloons and mayhem. It was great and I love the way Peruvians and my kids know how to party! I am a proponent on educating our kids on how to let loose and have fun - sure, there's all that reading, writing and math they worked hard on all year that is important. But then, let's celebrate the hard work and good friends and being together. Loved it.
